Counseling & therapy · In person and telehealth

You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support.

Stillwater is a small practice of five licensed therapists. No waitlist longer than two weeks, no rotating faces — the therapist you start with is the one you keep.

Sessions $140 · Sliding scale to $80 · Free 15-minute fit call before anything else

Wrong fit after session one? We'll match you with another therapist — session one's on us.

What we help with

The things people carry in quietly.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

The 3am spiral, the racing Sunday dread, the "I'm fine" that isn't. CBT and ACT-based work with practical tools you'll use between sessions.

Grief & Life Transitions

Loss, divorce, the job that ended, the kid who left for college. Space to feel it properly, and help finding what comes after.

Couples & Relationships

Gottman-trained couples work — for the arguing, the silence, or the "we're roommates now" drift. Repair is a skill; we teach it.

Your first weeks

What starting actually looks like.

i.

The fit call — free

Fifteen minutes on the phone with the therapist we think matches. You ask anything; no notes are taken, nothing is committed.

ii.

Sessions one & two

Your story, at your pace. Together you'll name what "better" would look like — that becomes the work.

iii.

Reviewing, not drifting

Every eight sessions you both check the map: keep going, shift focus, or wind down. Therapy should have a direction.

Fees, out in the open

Money shouldn't be the mystery in the room.

We're out-of-network by design — it keeps your records between you and your therapist. We provide superbills; most PPO plans reimburse 50–80%.

Six sliding-scale spots per therapist, held for as long as you need them.

"I interviewed three practices. Stillwater was the only one where the person on the phone was the actual therapist — and she told me the price before I asked."

Fair questions

Things it's okay to ask

How do I know if I "need" therapy?

If you're asking, something's asking. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis — "I keep having the same argument" or "I don't feel like myself" are complete reasons. The fit call exists to sort this out honestly.

What if I don't click with my therapist?

Say so — you won't hurt anyone's feelings; it's clinical information. We'll rematch you within the practice, and your first session with the new therapist is free.

Will insurance cover this?

We're out-of-network: you pay directly, we give you a superbill, and most PPO plans reimburse 50–80% after deductible. We'll help you check your specific benefits on the fit call — it takes five minutes.

Is telehealth as good as in person?

For most individual work, research says yes. Couples work lands better in the room. Every therapist here does both, and switching between them is fine.
