Honest answers

What patients ask first

Do I really need an annual skin check?

If you're fair-skinned, over 40, have 50+ moles, a family history, or a sunburn-heavy youth: yes. Everyone else: at minimum, do the monthly ABCDE self-check and book for anything evolving. One in five Americans develops skin cancer — caught early it's a 15-minute procedure, not a fight.

How fast can I be seen for a worrying spot?

Same week — say "changing mole" when you book and you jump the routine queue. It's occasionally nothing (we're glad), and that false alarm costs you an hour. The opposite mistake costs more.

Will insurance cover my visit?

Medical dermatology (checks, acne, rashes, biopsies) — yes, on most plans, and we verify yours by text before you book. Cosmetic is self-pay with prices published in the office, not discovered in the chair.

What actually works for adult acne?

Prescription-strength treatment sequenced correctly — usually a retinoid backbone plus targeted additions, adjusted at 8-week check-ins. What doesn't: the $340 influencer routine. We'll audit your shelf at the consult; bring the bag.
