Independent agency · 14 carriers, one office

We work for you. Not for a carrier.

Granite Shield is an independent agency — we shop 14 carriers against each other for your home, auto, and business, then re-shop at every renewal automatically. When you claim, you call us, not a call center.

Coverage

Four lines. Fourteen carriers. One accountable human.

Home & Renters

Replacement-cost coverage checked against actual local rebuild prices — the gap that surprises people after the fire.

Auto

Liability limits sized to what you own, not state minimums. Teen drivers priced across all 14 carriers, where it matters most.

Business

BOPs, liability, commercial auto, and workers' comp for local operations — from food trucks to 40-person shops.

Life & Umbrella

Term life priced in ten minutes, and the $200/year umbrella policy most families should have and don't.

When you claim

The 2am tree-through-the-roof protocol.

  • You call us, not a 1-800 queue. Our claims line is staffed by the same three people whose names you know.
  • We file with the carrier and stay on the claim — chasing adjusters is literally our job, not yours.
  • We fight lowballs. Last year we got 31 claims re-opened or increased after initial offers.
supervised

Every claim our clients filed last year — 214 of them — was tracked by this office from filing to check.

That's the difference between buying a policy online and having an agent.

"The carrier offered $9,800 for the roof. Granite Shield re-opened it with their own contractor's estimate and the final check was $16,400. My agent did that, not my lawyer."

Asked before switching

How do independent agents get paid?

Commission from whichever carrier you choose — which is why we show you every quote, including lower-commission ones. Your rate is identical with or without an agent; the carrier prices the service in either way. You're just choosing whether anyone answers when it matters.

Is switching mid-policy a hassle?

No — we handle the cancellation, the refund of unused premium, and the effective-date alignment so there's no gap. You sign twice; we do the rest.

Will you actually re-shop my renewal, or is that a line?

Every renewal runs through the 14-carrier comparison automatically. Most years the answer is "stay put" — we moved 22% of renewing clients last year, and told the other 78% why staying was right. You get the comparison either way.

My rate jumped 30% for no reason. Normal?

Common right now, and often beatable. Bring the renewal notice to the free review — of last year's rate-jump reviews, about 6 in 10 found a materially better placement.
